Dolly Parton Talks Britney, Lindsay and Miley

Dolly Parton says it's time to leave a couple of the world's most famous starlets alone.

"Poor little Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan," Parton said at her concert last night at L.A.'s Greek Theatre. "Ain't it awful? If those little girls slept with as many men as they say in the tabloids, why their little butts would have more fingerprints than the FBI!"

All kidding aside, Parton said, "I kinda feel sorry for them. We should give those two a break."

It's too bad Spears and Lohan weren't in the audience to hear Parton's got their back. So, who was at the show?

In the house were T.R. Knight, Vince Vaughn, Katherine Heigl with singer hubby Josh Kelley and Rose McGowan.

Parton also talked about playing second fiddle to Miley Cyrus after guest-starring on Hannah Montana as "Aunt Dolly." "A lot of little kids come up to me and say, 'Aunt Dolly!' " Parton said. And I say, 'Would you little girls like an autograph?' And they say, 'Oh, yes! When you see Miley, please get us one.' "

Parton sang almost all of her hits ("Coat of Many Colors," "Islands in the Stream," "9 to 5," etc.) in the more than two-hour show. She performed a honky-tonked cover of the Fine Young Cannibals' "She Drives Me Crazy" and belted out "Backwoods Barbie," the title song of her new album that will also be featured in the new 9 to 5 stage musical.

She even got a bit political—kinda.

Some fans wore T-shirts reading, "Dolly for President."

"I don’t think so!" Parton said of her presidential aspirations. "I think there have been enough boobs in the White House."

Commenting on how times have changed, she said of this year's presidential race, "We've had a woman, we have a black man and an old stiff."

But that's as serious as she got when it came to current events.

"People are always asking me in interviews, 'What do you think of foreign affairs?' I just say, 'I've had a few.' "

And the boob jokes were aplenty. "They say, 'What do you think about global warming?' " Parton said. "I say, 'If my globes get too warm, I just take my sweater off.' "

David Letterman Marries Longtime Girlfriend

David Letterman Marries Longtime Girlfriend

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Who says you can't teach an old dog some new, not so stupid tricks?

David Letterman swapped vows with longtime love Regina Lasko Thursday afternoon in a no-frills courthouse ceremony. The newlyweds are parents of a 5-year-old son, Harry.

The 61-year-old Late Show host is planning to announce the big news on tonight's episode, where congratulations will be in order from guests Hugh Laurie and Sarah Paulson.

"On Thursday, at 3 p.m., March 19, 2009, at the Teton County Courthouse in Choteau, Montana, I was married to Regina Lasko," Letterman will say, according to CBS.

"Regina and I began dating in February of 1986, and I said, 'Well, things are going pretty good, let's just see what happens in about 10 years.' I had avoided getting married pretty good for, like, 23 years, and I—honestly, whether this happened or not—I secretly felt that men who were married admired me…like I was the last of the real gunslingers, you know what I'm saying?"

Yup, that sounds about right for the guy who tended to pull the tightening-of-the-collar look whenever one of his guests asked about future plans to tie the knot.

This is the second marriage for Letterman, who spent nine years with Michelle Cook before divorcing in 1978.

Not that round two went off without a hitch—in fact, Mother Nature almost didn't let it happen.

When Letterman, Lasko and Harry set off for the courthouse Thursday, they ended up getting stuck in the mud.

"So now we think, 'Well, somebody'll come—no, nobody comes along," Letterman says. "Nobody comes along—it's Thursday afternoon, who's coming along, Zorro?"

"So I get out of the truck and I walk two miles back to the house into a 50-mile-an-hour wind. It's not Beverly Hills, it's Montana, for God's sakes. And the whole way, I'm thinking, 'See, smart ass, see, see, you try to get married, this is what happens. See, well, you've got nobody to blame but yourself. Could have happened any other day, but you wait now, see, this is what you get.'"

But what Letterman got in the end was married.

Jessica Simpson: Run Away From Abusive Men

First Oprah and Tyra. Now it's Jessica's turn.

Becoming the latest star to speak out this week in the wake of the Chris Brown-Rihanna fiasco, Jessica Simpson urged female fans at last night's concert in Phoenix to "run so far away" from abusive relationships.

"In love, we all go through a lot of things, and a lot of things unfortunately make us stay there," Simpson, 28, told the crowd. "No matter what you go through in life, no matter what abuse you go through, take your heart and run so far away."

She then broke into "Remember That," with the lines "Remember how he pushed you in the hallway just enough to hurt a little bit/ Remember the whiskey in his whispers and the lies that fell so easy from his lips/ He said he'll never do it again/ You can't take it back/ The proof is on your skin/ Remember that.

"It doesn't matter how he hurts you/ With his hands or with his words/ You don't deserve it/ It ain't worth it/ Take your heart and run."

Simpson, who divorced Nick Lachey in 2006 after three years of marriage and subsequently dated musician John Mayer, alluded to her own relationship drama with "a guy that I couldn't get over" following a performance of "Still Don't Stop Me."

"After I wrote that song, I was mad at myself for being so weak, and I got over that guy!" she said.

Simpson has previously admitted to being in an abusive relationship of her own, but she has never identified the man involved.

Private Chris Brown Court Date Nixed Without Explanation

Los Angeles (E! Online) – As Chris Brown gets ready to face the music, his legal team is apparently still getting its act together.

A private court meeting had originally been called for Monday at Team Brown's request. On Friday, the in-chambers hearing was postponed, purportedly due to a scheduling conflict. Now, we have learned that the hearing has been canceled altogether.

"The next date [in Brown's felony case] is April 6 for the arraignment. The hearing is not being rescheduled," said a court clerk.

E! News previously reported that the 19-year-old singer's attorney, Mark Geragos, has been trying to work out a plea deal, but Geragos has yet to comment on why the meeting was nixed.

Brown's manager did, however, deny an earlier report alleging the meeting was called because Brown was looking to ditch Geragos along with the singer's management and PR team.

The embattled entertainer faces two felony counts—assault likely to produce great bodily injury and making criminal threats—stemming from the alleged Feb. 8 altercation with Rihanna following a Grammys pre-party.

Brown was not required to be in court for this week's hearing.

In fact, his legal troubles appeared to be the furthest thing from his mind this past weekend. Brown was spotted back in his home state of Virginia riding a bike and later accompanying his cousin on a campus tour of Norfolk State University.
